NBD P100 brings back sliding camera design with 64MP sensor and USB-C

Ana sayfa / News

The NBD P100 is a modern compact camera with a familiar twist; it brings back the sliding front panel made famous by older Sony Cyber-shot models. But under that retro-inspired shell is a capable device with a 64MP sensor, USB-C charging, and 4K video, all at a sub-$100 crowdfunded price.

Instead of a typical power button, the NBD P100 turns on by sliding down its front plate, which also doubles as a lens cover. It’s a nod to Sony’s beloved compact cameras and gives the device a satisfying mechanical action that’s rare on modern tech.

While the look and feel are nostalgic, the internals are all modern. It features a 64MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, capable of 4K video at 30 frames per second. Though it lacks optical zoom, it makes up for it with filters, presets, and a surprisingly fast startup time.

Switch 2 storage costs may rise as microSD card shortage worsens

A global memory crunch could drive up Switch 2 storage costs, as microSD Express cards become harder to find due to AI-fueled demand.

The camera includes a small rear display and a built-in selfie lens, allowing for dual-camera shooting. It’s also USB-C powered, supports microSD storage, and even functions as a webcam a useful perk for streamers and remote workers.

Here’s what the NBD P100 packs:

The NBD P100 is currently available through Kickstarter for $90 plus fees. Shipments are expected to begin in January, but as with any crowdfunding campaign, delays or adjustments are possible.

Still, for under $100, this camera checks a lot of boxes reviving a design many forgot they missed, while still delivering on the specs today’s users expect. The sliding compact camera might be back, and the NBD P100 makes that feel like a good thing.
